Geoff Gornall, Tapworks Brewing Company: “The more I work with [Alvarez CPA] the more I entrust to them”
A few years ago, Geoff Gornall, co-founder of Tapworks Brewing Company, realized his team needed additional help with their accounting and bookkeeping. The business, a microbrewery, had been working with another accounting group but found that they were missing opportunities to maximize their financial situation.
Additionally, much of their financial processes were being done manually. Geoff was spending a lot of his time doing the bookkeeping himself, and the team was heavily reliant on a paper copy, including filing and storing hardcopy receipts.

By automating, Tapworks’ bookkeeping and accounting are easier to manage and much more cost effective, freeing up vital time and financial resources for other priorities.
Tapworks relies on Alvarez CPA for their financial statement preparation, reconciliations, PST and GST filing and issuing dividends, among other services. It’s a relationship that has grown in the time they’ve worked together.

Although people might be hesitant to change their accounting situation because of concerns about the time and energy it can take, Geoff says he quickly realized a huge difference in his time saved, a benefit he feels other business owners would notice as well.
That additional time has enabled Geoff to focus more on Tapworks Brewing Company, growing it into a vibrant community hub with a burger shack that hosts local events ranging from live music to trivia nights and video game tournaments.
